Hello Legs, Are You There? It’s Me, Erin.

Saturday workout:
Bike – 29 miles
————————————–

In case you’ve noticed that I have not been posting my workouts this week, it’s because there have been no workouts this week. That’s right, nothin, nadda, zip. I have been sitting on my butt, letting my muscles and foot heal (oh yeah and working on that pesky thesis thing).

I knew I wanted to go out and do something this weekend. I was thinking maybe a nice relaxing yoga class, or a low-impact swim, etc. But when Steph from 321Delish tweeted that she was looking for a bike partner this morning, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some workout company! I love me a training date!:)

Poor Steph–I was not the best bike buddy today. First, we left a half an hour later than we had originally planned because I’m a dummy who has not touched my bike sine the Kinetic Half Ironman last Saturday and completely forgot until that morning that at Kinetic I had broken off the nozzle tip of my tire tube, which meant if I wanted to put air in my tires (which usually helps when you’re biking;), I would need to change my tire. And it was the back one. Sigh.

Second, my legs were completely dead today. I think they were still angry with me for the bike/run course I put them through on Saturday. Remember this run elevation chart from the half marathon portion of the half ironman?

Well I can tell you that my legs certainly did remember. And I think they were still protesting the event by boycotting today’s ride.

Sorry for being a slow mo today, Steph! I promise I’ll be a better bike buddy next time!:)

I also had some awesome dinner dates this weekend at two restaurants I had never been to before, and both were awesome! I love finding new amazing restaurants!

Earlier this week Eric and I had a dinner date at an Indian restaurant near our house, Aditi. Aditi is a little inconspicuous restaurant in the shopping center by our house, that we have always overlooked in the past. I am sad we just now discovered this place (2+ years after living here), because it was SO amazing!

The calamari appetizer (picture taken on my iPhone). I don’t know what the sauce was that these were cooked in, but they were delicious.

I also can’t remember the name of my dish, but it was a coconut milk and curry sauce with shrimp. And it was amazing (as was the garlic naan).

And on Friday night we went to Seasons 52 in Rockville, MD, to celebrate my friend Dana’s birthday!

Not a bad-looking group of ladies, if I do say so myself;).

Oh yeah, and the men were there, too:).

Seasons 52 is a little more on the pricey side, but the food was amazing. They are called Seasons 52 because they change their menu according to the seasons. Also, all of their meals have 475 calories or less! Very interesting to me.

I failed to take pictures of our food, I think because I was too excited to eat it and to watch Dana’s adorable son, who was joining us for dinner.

So I stole one picture from Season’s web site. Our table split the chicken and tomato and basil flatbread. They were both awesome!

Eric and I also shared the goat cheese ravioli and buffalo and black bean chili. Yum!

And dessert was also amazing. They have “mini indulgences” for dessert, and brought us out the whole tray for Dana’s birthday to choose from:). The guys were not paying attention when the waitress brought this over, and asked if we had ordered the whole thing. I wish!:)

We tried a bunch of different flavors: rocky road, carrot cake, espresso, and peanut butter chocolate, and they were all amazing!

So much fun! And the weekend is only half over!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

What workouts are you doing?

Eric and I totally rocked the skate park, it was sweet.

Dinner was fun! And I just had to comment because our outfits look so color-coordinated. Let’s pretend we did that on purpose 🙂

PS I love how Barry and Ryan look alike in that adorable father-son shot!

I am surprised to be reading your blog post right now. I thought I would be dead from the rapture.

Looks like a fun time! Glad your legs are making they’re way back!

The seasons restaurant looks amazing. I really have to try it next time I am in the area. I am already scoping out the best pre marathon night restaurant for marine corps. I completely understand about being a bad workout buddy, totally how I felt yesterday with my running.

Glad you all had a great time celebrating Dana’s b-day. I’ve never had Indian food….must give it a try next time I’m down there for a visit.

  9. Sorry you had a slow bike ride – but it sounds like your body needed the recovery!

LOVE the shot glasses dessert at Seasons 52. So yummy, and practically guilt-free.

    • Yeah the shot glass desserts were awesome! They were also only $2.50, too! I hate paying $8.00 for a dry piece of chocolate cake (which is usually what happens when I try to get dessert at a restaurant:).

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope that your foot and legs are feeling better soon! I can only imagine that half ironman recovery takes a while. Being new to triathlons that seems like such a long race to me (and incredible accomplishment)! But I’m sure you’ll be feeling good again soon.

You did awesome! I had such a blast!! Oh, and I went to Seasons 52 when I was in Orlando a few weeks ago! So cool they have a location here!!

  13. ahhh seasons 52 is genius! they had one in boca that was near me when I used to live in SOFL and I’ve been dying for it!

The title of this post made me snort outloud — its not very often that a post does that so i’d thought I’d tell ya you’re hillllarious! ❤ and I know you'll be a speed demon on the bike next time 😉

    • That’s funny that you also have been to the one in Florida, because Stephanie commented about that too, and the reason we heard about it was because my friend’s Dana and her husband go to the one in Florida all the time (her husband is from Florida!). Haha, I’m very happy to hear it made you laugh, thanks for letting me know, hehe:).

Glad to see it gets a good review! I just noticed it’s opened up (near me!) and have been wondering how it was. Will have to check it out soon!

  15. Good for you for listening to your legs and taking a break! Mine would be dead after that crazy incline/elevation!
I have been meaning to try Indian food for so long now! I love all foods but for some reason have just never had Indian. I have a few restaurants picked out – maybe it will finally happen this weekend.
PS – I totally failed and didn’t get my Dean K. question in to you on time! My husband and I were discussing “potential questions” all weekend (he’s a big fan) but I don’t ever think we narrowed it down anyways, haha. But I completely trust you’ll have some interesting and unique questions! Can’t wait for the interview 🙂

    • I did not have Indian food for a long time, too! And then, the first couple restaurants I tried I actually didn’t like that much, so then I didn’t have it again for a few more years, haha. But now I love it!!

Aw, I’m sorry you missed the question cutoff, but there are more ways to enter now if you still want to try and win a copy of his book:).

that restaurant seems amazing! The food looks perfect. Especially the ravioli 🙂
