A Wedding and A Bike Ride

Congrats again to Jess for winning the Dean Karnazes giveaway. I can’t wait to hear what she thinks of the book. I’m also pretty stoked to say that I should have another giveaway coming up very soon. So don’t leave me now that the Karnazes giveaway is over! Mmkay?;)

Anyway, how was your Memorial Day weekend? Mine was great!

On Sunday I got to be a part of my best friend’s wedding. It was beautiful and she was a gorgeous bride. I am so happy I got to be a part of her big day!

Saturday was the wedding shower and rehearsal dinner picnic. I ate like a queen on Saturday! Well, how I would eat if I were queen, anyway.

Lunch was prepared by my friend’s brother’s girlfriend…and let’s just say that everyone at the party has already decided to hire her to cater an event of ours in the future. The food was unbelievable! Fruit pizza, crab salad in lettuce wraps, cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, cake balls, and more and more and more delicious food. Everything I tried was better than the last. I was in food heaven!

Dinner was sandwiches from Cosi with fruit, veggies, and pita chips. The perfect picnic food!

Even more exciting than the amazing food was getting to spend so much time with my high school friends. Remember my three friends who I have been really close with since high school? Well I got to spend a lot of time with the lovely ladies this weekend!

As well as a bunch of other gorgeous ladies and friends from high school!

We had a great night!

On Monday Eric and I went for a bike ride with my blogger/tri buddy Steph and a bunch of other friends. It was a little hot out, but we still had a great time!

We rode out in Poolesville, MD. It’s one of my favorite rides! Farmland, horses, lots of trees, etc!

Even though the hills hurt quite a bit, my legs finally felt like they belonged to me again! Woohoo!

After our ride we went back to my parents’ house and had brunch.

Noooot a very good group picture. But the food was great!

Chocolate chip whole wheat pancakes, fresh fruit salad, bacon, and toast. The perfect post-ride meal!

What did you do this weekend? Did you get any good runs/rides/swims in? Go to any BBQs? I want to hear about it!:)

    • Aw, yeah you still have a whole summer ahead of you for grilling! I miss having a grill…we can’t have one on our deck because we live in a condo with another unit above us:( We have a countertop grill, but it’s just not quite the same:/.

  14. Yay! So glad I just found your blog. I’ve been searching for fellow tri/foodie bloggers!!
I had a great long run and ride this weekend while spending the weekend in the White Mountains of NH. I got a great hilly run in up to the snow line on a ski mountain. I could not believe there was still snow…

    • Hey! I am so glad you found me, too! I went and commented on your blog, too:). Wow, that sounds like an awesome weekend! I can’t believe there as snow, too. That’s crazy:). Good for you for getting a ride and a run in on your vacay!:)

  15. Chuck says:

Looks like an awesome set of adventures and food! Where is that ride- looks like a really nice bike path!

And damn you and that watermelon! I’m texting my mom now to have some ready when I am in town tomorrow night!

    • Hahaha, the watermelon! I hope you get some! That’s awesome that you’re visiting your fam today. How long are you in DC? That bike ride was actually on the back roads in Poolesville, MD. There were some cars, but not a ton. There are a ton of bikers out there, though, I love it!

  16. I love the blue dresses! Stunning. Your friend was a beautiful bride. All of the food looks amazing – esp Cosi sandwiches (love!). Yup, we we went to 3 BBQ’s this past weekend and I’m now having a detox week (nothing crazy, just eating clean & healthy).
Glad to hear the legs are feeling better!
